Members in Attendance: Elizabeth Allison, Jim Clayton Jr., Larry Ehrig, Amy Morrow and Duane Selken board members present. Brian Nicholas was absent
President Jim Clayton Jr. called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.

Allison read the Secretary’s report from November 9, 2006.
Ehrig read the Treasurer’s report from September 1, 2006 through November 30, 2006

Addition to the Agenda: None

Hearings: Jose Velasquez attended the meeting and informed the board of directors that the Rottweiler dog would be removed from the Holiday Lake Subdivision by Monday December 18, 2006.

Secretary’s Report: November 9, 2006 Selken made motion to accept report, Ehrig seconded, motion carried by unanimous vote.

Treasurer’s Report: Allison made motion to accept report, Morrow seconded, motion carried by unanimous vote.

Bills presented for payment: Bills were presented. Motion to pay Ehrig, seconded by Selken, Allison opposed payment to Wendy Schwab for reimbursement for classes, motion carried. Vivian Link inquired about the Attorney’s bill. Jim Clayton Jr. explained this was for filing of small claims to collect delinquent accounts, injunction letters that were requested by the board to be sent and meeting with William Olson to review Bylaws, rules, building codes, etc. and reorganize them.

Maintenance Report: Kristofer Kempf reported that he has been cleaning out culverts, trimming trees, placed guard rail on Caron Drive, picked up steel for the dump truck, cleaning up Leisure Park so it can be seeded in the spring.

Community Building Report: Total in accounts $107,082.79. Building committee met with Clayton Construction, Poweshiek County Sanitarian Carroll Smith and Gary from Scharnwaber’s at the building site.

Website: Keith Allison is working with Ken Schwartz from Omaha to help him with the information needed to take over the website. Ken will not be able to attend all of the events and would like pictures and information sent to him at webmaster@holidaylakebrooklynia.com

Security Report: Mark Baugh presented his road security report.

Fish Report: Redear fish, structures and spawning mats were delivered on 11-29-06 for a cost of $1,400.00. More money is needed to replenish the fish savings account.

Water Quality Committee Report:

Silt Committee Report: Duane Selken reported that all the pieces from the dredge have been received except one part that will need picked up in Monroe Iowa.

Rural Improvement Zone Report: Per Robert Josten’s assistant this is on his list of things to do.

Old Business: Signs for Entrances and Boat Ramps-Amy Morrow was tabled until January as waiting for wording from the attorney.
Jim Clayton Jr. read the following; Be it resolved by the Holiday Lake Board of Directors the maintenance fees shall be assessed and billed on the 1st of March of each calendar year, are due and payable on the 1st of April of each calendar year, and are delinquent if not paid on or before the 1st of May of each year. Per the lake attorney notice does not need to be given, but will be on all correspondence sent to lot owners and on the billing. It will read as follows; The Holiday Lake Board of Directors will take whatever steps necessary to enforce the collection of fees that are delinquent. Motion to accept Ehrig, seconded by Selken, Allison opposed, motion carried.

2007 Directory amount to order will be tabled until January. Duane Selken will meet with Poweshiek Water to work out the details of payment on water repairs and new service. Security personal was tabled until January. Allison made the motion to purchase a bottom panel for the overhead middle shop door for $150.00, Morrow seconded, motion carried by unanimous vote. Mark Morarie’s lawyer has not contacted our attorney in regards to the easement. Injunction for John Haynes will be on Monday December 18th at 9:30 a.m., Duane Selken will meet the attorney there.

New Business: Six otter’s have been caught from the lake, the DNR will be contacted to see what can be done about these as they kill fish for sport and can easily clean the lake out of fish. Letter was presented and signed by all present board members to send to each lot owner of lot’s 55-58 of unit 5 to inform them of plans for next spring to dig a small trench from the roadway towards the catch basin to divert the water. Draft of 2007 Land and Watercraft registration, watercraft rules. Draft of 2007 Lake Security and Beach Manager contract with changes of end of contact date to reflect the end of the year and that a 30 day written notice be given if either party wishes to terminate the contract. Two culvert quotes were presented for culvert going under the road from lots 160,161 to lots 124,125 located in unit 4. Ehrig made motion to accept lowest quote, Morrow seconded, motion carried by unanimous vote. Josh Kriegel admitted to driving his vehicle off the roadway and abandoning it in the water at the beach boat ramp. Holiday Lake Board of Directors will have the attorney put an injunction against him from operating any vehicle that is motorized in the Holiday Lake Subdivision. A lot owner had expressed concern about a storage trailer on lot 258 and 259 in unit 5, as there is no restriction against this no action will be taken, but a letter will be sent to concerned lot owner thanking them for their interest. Payment was made to Kris Kempf for shop supplies he had picked up and paid for out of his personal account. Brian Edelen trees on lot 194 located in unit 4 were given approval to be taken down. Vacation request for Wendy Schwab was presented and approved for ½ day on Saturday December 23, 2006. Brian Nicholas requested permission for four trees on lot 227 in unit 5 be removed, Allison made motion to accept removal of trees, Selken seconded, motion carried by unanimous vote.

Kenneth Coats one tree on lot 59 located in unit 6 Allison made motion to accept removal of tree, Ehrig seconded, motion carried by unanimous vote. Duane Selken met with Greg Townley of NRCS and went around the lake and looked at Fluer Drive, Franklin Drive, Turkey Alley and lot 88 located in unit 3 owned by Mary Peck as possible areas for the grant money from Walnut Creek Watershed. Holiday Lake Board of Directors will have the attorney file an objection to amount of settlement in the bankruptcy case of Kevin Irwin.

Jim Clayton Jr. instructed Wendy Schwab to have her name taken off of all the accounts at the bank, new papers were drawn up to reflect this change and all board members that were present signed them. Allison explained this was preferred when it was discussed by some of the board that only board members sign checks. Persons allowed to sign checks are Jim Clayton Jr., Larry Ehrig or Brian Nicholas. To alleviate any criticism for Wendy to have to handle only Jim, Larry or Brian will sign checks from the office and that will eliminate any question of impropriety by Wendy. Kris has rearranged the shop area and a pop can receptacle is now located right outside the office door.

Greg Hansen has a dispute about his property being in the roadway on Holiday Lane. Wendy will try and contact him to have a professional survey done by him to confirm where the lot lines are.
